About The Senior Section (TSS)

The Senior Section is a flexible, fun programme open to young women from their 14th birthday to their 26th birthday. The Senior Section is also known as Rangers.

The opportunities for TSS age group are amazing - from international travel to learning new skills, exploring your creative side to becoming a leader.  The Senior Section programme offers a number of challenges and opportunities to develop self-awareness and self-confidence, through programmes such as Peer Education, the Queens Guide award and Adult Leadership Qualification

The Peer Education programme trains members of The Senior Section to empower themselves and others to make a difference in the lives of girls throughout the UK.  The Queen's Guide Award is the highest award you can work towards in guiding and encourages members to develop skills, whilst contributing to guiding and their local community.  You can work through the Young Leaders qualification then progress to the Adult Leadership Qualification at 18+ years old.

There are exciting international opportunities to volunteer at one of our world centres or represent Girlguiding in a number of different countries. By helping others, making new friends and achieving your own personal challenges you are gaining in self-confidence, knowledge and skills to bring back and share and encourage others.

How amazing this would look on your CV!

Members with Additional Needs

Girlguiding is an inclusive organisation which values and celebrates each other’s differences.

Some of our members have additional needs and we adapt our activities so that they can participate and enjoy the activities we offer.

Girlguiding South Yorkshire has a Special Needs Team who support leaders; suggesting ways to assess and adapt activities to reduce the barriers to their involvement.  Leaders work closely with parents to ensure the child’s needs are met, where possible.
