Duke of Edinburgh Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Girlguiding South Yorkshire
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is coordinated in South Yorkshire by Helen Cook, County DofE Advisor. Each year we have many senior section girls in county who undertake their expeditions at bronze, silver and gold level and work towards completing their award.
You can also download the participant enrolment form and the DofE leaflet from the member’s area of this website.
What does DofE involve?
To complete your DofE you must undertake several activities, one from each of the following categories: volunteering, physical, skill and expedition (plus the residential section at gold level only). Each activity should be completed for around one hour per week and you can complete them all at once or one after the other. See the diagram below which details how long you have to complete each activity for and how old you have to be to start each level of the award:
What sort of activities can I take part in?
There are a huge number of activities you can complete for each section of the award. You can use an activity you already participate in or you could try something completely new. See the image below for some ideas.
